Gary is a featured soloist with The Peace of Heart Choir who joined in 2007. He’s a 30-year PR veteran, a former journalist, a father of three, a Queens native, and an avid music and art lover. “Singing, and encouraging others to sing, brings me great joy. It’s as important to my health and well-being as exercise, meditation, and spending time with friends and family. I’m very fortunate to be able to play a role in the beautiful community that is Peace of Heart.”

SANDI SCHEIN

Steering Committee Co-Chair

Sandi was delighted to discover the Peace of Heart Choir soon after she returned to NYC, where she was born and raised. She has been singing in choirs for the past 20 years, and before returning to NYC, she particpated in community theaters in Western NY, MA, CA, and GA. What fulfills her most is singing in community. As a licensed psychologist, she also believes ardently in the powers of melodies and lyrics to heal, uplift and unite people of diverse races and cultures. Although she is a huge Broadway show tunes fan, Sandi also enjoys learning and performng songs in various languages. Since 2020, when Sandi first joined the POHC Soprano ll section, the choir has performed songs in Arabic, Chinese, German, Hawaiian, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, French, Korean, Spanish, Swahili, Yiddish, and Zulu. Singing while traveling around the world? What could be better?

When Carrie is not acting on stage or in front of the camera, she can be found singing with the Peace of Heart Choir where she treasures the opportunity to sing with the choir, especially at outreaches where you can see and feel the power of music as a universal language that can make us feel and bring us together and bring us joy. A Steering Committee and Board Member, Carrie enjoys hosting Cabarets and maintaining and managing the POHC website and social media platforms.
